Faversham Feet 2022 Newsletter
Faversham Feet has now been running for 5 years!!!
The last 5 years have been absolutely amazing since qualifying as a Foot Health Practitioner and, with the help of my clients, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing my little business go from strength to strength. I now have over 1300 clients on my books of which over 300 are regulars. As always, I’m absolutely humbled by the sheer number of you putting your faith in me and my colleagues and I’m so grateful to each and every one of you.
To those of you who we see regularly, thank you for coming back time and again. We really do look forward to seeing every one of you and may our relationships, both personal and professional, continue for many more years to come.
To those we see as one-off’s, thank you for choosing us and if not seeing you again means we’ve solved your problems or got you to the right place, then we couldn’t be happier.
The team has grown… As business has expanded, it has been necessary to get some assistance, so Faversham Feet now has two associate team members; Vicky who covers some of our home visits in Whitstable and Mikala who covers some of our home visits in Faversham and surrounding villages. We also have a new member of staff currently in training; Laura has finished her theory course and will be completing her practical training around in January. Once she has qualified, Laura will be offering clinic appointments at Gatefield Lane.
What’s happened this year… As some of you already know, I was nominated for the Kent Health and Beauty Awards again this year and I’m so proud to say that I received two awards. Mobile Business of the Year – Silver Award and HAB (Health and Beauty) Business of the Year – Bronze Award.
As part of the FHP qualification and insurance, we undertake regular training to keep our skills up to date and expand our knowledge. In June, Mikala and I attended the annual Kettering Foot Health conference for two full days of lectures which we thoroughly enjoyed, and we look forward to returning again next year. I also completed a module in Wound Management with the SMAE institute.
I have also finally managed to complete a pedicure course with UK Beauty Schools which I know many of you have been waiting for for some time. Later next year I’m hoping I’ll be able to offer full pedicure and medi-pedi (medical pedicure) services.
As one of the most important aspects of foot care is ensuring that clients have the right shoes, I often point them in the direction of the ShoeMed. As a result of a close working relationship with them, I have been given a discount code for all of my clients. The code RS_FAVERSHAM10 will secure you £10 off on purchases over £100 so don’t forget to use it if you ever visit their website for new shoes!
What’s to come for next year?… The next big step for the business is to find premises to call our own and I am keeping a very close eye on premises in central Faversham with a view to snap one up as soon as the right place becomes available.
While this will mean that my current 2 clinics will combine to a single premises, it will mean that we can offer a wider range of appointments, services and products.
2023 Prices… Unfortunately, as is the case with everybody, I am suffering significant increases in costs and am therefore sadly having to apply an increase to my prices. I completely understand that we are in a difficult time financially and as I want my clients to prioritise keeping warm this winter, I am going to defer the price increase until the 1st of March.
Appointment Times… Because home visit timing can be difficult to judge, appointment times given are approximate. More often than not, I run early or on time, although very occasionally I may run late due to traffic and other extenuating circumstance. Please be aware that all home visit appointment times given are +/- 30 minutes. If you require strict appointment times (ie. to accommodate carers) then please let me know and I will endeavour to keep to time. Clinic appointments will remain at their given time.
A gentle reminder… Please could I remind you all of the late cancellation policy. If you are unable to keep your appointment then please let me know as soon as possible. Missed appointments will be subject to a £20 fee payable before rebooking. That said, I do completely understand that there may be reasons beyond your control and your reasons will always be taken into consideration before a charge is applied.
Onwards and upwards… I really do thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your continued custom and support and wish all of you the very best.
Have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you again in 2023!
With Love,
Gemma
May special blessings brightly shine
On all those dear to you,
And may the Christmas magic love
Be with you all year through!
